Advisor Ashley Woodrow was “Highly Commended”, which means he placed second, as the best newcomer at the National Health Insurance awards held at London’s Grosvenor House. This is a great endorsement from our industry peers of our staff training and development as well as Ashley’s achievements.

Ashley joined us just over a year ago after a varied career as a musician, furniture restorer and technical sales executive in the steel industry in just a year, Ashley has become a trusted PMI advisor.

In a PMI pub quiz, I’d put him against anybody. His appetite for learning and application of knowledge is superb.

Since July 2017, with no previous financial services experience, Ashley has wowed both our new and existing clients by delivering consistently excellent results and providing detailed but straightforward advice.

He’s integral in managing Lesson Moore’s renewal business, personally boasting an impressive 96% individual retention rate and is currently involved in the training of our latest recruit, Jack Webster. He has quite simply exceeded our wildest expectations and those of his clients, as client Angela put it;

“I am impressed with the friendliness and service from Ashley regarding my annual Health Insurance premium. I have had several Health Insurance brokers in the past, and never received anything like approaching the personal consideration and trouble he put in for me. Resulting in an excellent saving per month premium! I cannot recommend him highly enough as a Star in the world of Brokers!”

Previously employed in a Technical Sales role in the Steel processing industry Ashley was keen to apply his consultative approach and eye for detail in a new arena.

He arrived at Lesson Moore having already read and digested a 2013 copy of the IF7 text plus a wealth of literature relating to the industry’s leading insurance providers and policies.

Daily he continues to demonstrate an insatiable capacity for learning and personal development and has logged over 150 hours of CPD activity this year alone.

We were therefore unsurprised when he achieved a hugely impressive 93% in his IF7 exam – a record for the Lesson Moore team.

Ashley has visited multiple insurers this year and insists on spending time with the claims, and underwriting teams wherever possible.

“I’m keen to get beyond the brochures and find out exactly how it feels to be a customer of each insurer – especially during a claim. This is not only a great experience for me but real insight that I can share with our clients”

Rob Smith – Sales Director at Freedom said

“When we met Ashley in December we were amazed with his knowledge and understanding of the industry in such a small time-frame. He has a good future in the world of PMI.”

As part of his development, Ashley has also visited the Circle Bath and the Bristol Priory hospital and is scheduled to visit the private NHS facilities at the Kingston Wing at Yeovil District Hospital later this year.

He’s written reviews of both visits,

After less than 3 months experience he shared his deep understanding of PMI underwriting via website blogs explaining in plain English FMU and Moratorium underwriting, these are regularly issued to clients by all of our advisors and have achieved sufficient authority to appear in google searches on the topic;
